The
Texas Computer Education Association
(TCEA) is the
largest
state organization devoted to the use of technology in education.
Founded in 1980, the organization has been very active throughout Texas
supporting instructional technology. The TCEA 2007 conference was
held February 5 - 9 in Austin, TX. International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) provides professional development, knowledge generation, advocacy, and leadership for innovation. A nonprofit membership organization, ISTE provides leadership and service to improve teaching, learning, and school leadership by advancing the effective use of technology in PK–12 and teacher education. Their summer National Educational Computer Conference (NECC) is one of the largest in the world. NECC 2007 is in Atlanta, Georgia June 24 - 27. Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education (AACE) membership includes: researchers, developers, and practitioners in schools, colleges, and universities; administrators, policy decision-makers, trainers, adult educators, and other specialists in education, industry, and the government with an interest in advancing knowledge and learning with information technology worldwide. The Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE) International Conference is being held in San Antonio, TX this year on March 26 -30. The International Technology Education Association (ITEA) is a professional organization for technology, innovation, design, and engineering educators. Their mission is to promote technological literacy for all by supporting the teaching of technology and promoting the professionalism of those engaged in this pursuit. Their 69th Annual Conference will be held in San Antonio, TX on March 15 -17. The Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) is an international association for instructional technology and educational media professionals. Their mission is to provide leadership in educational communications and technology by linking professionals holding a common interest in the use of educational technology and its application to the learning process. The Association For Women In Computing (AWC) is a national, nonprofit, professional organization for individuals with an interest in information technology. AWC is dedicated to the advancement of women in the computing fields, in business, industry, science, education and government.
